WVSILC and WVARF are combining forces this year to bring IL Day and State Use Day together showcasing Independent Living and Employment for people with disabilities. Register below for either event.
IL Day will be on the House Side and State Use Day will be on the Senate Side.
Charleston, WV – The West Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council along with the West Virginia Centers for Independent Living will host the annual Independent Living (IL) Day at the Capitol on Friday, January 30, 2026. This event will be celebrating Independent Living programs, highlighting unmet needs, and introducing the WV Independence Network (WIN).
Share your story with legislators, advocate for independent living, and support people with disabilities. This day of educating and advocacy brings together WIN center’s staff, disability advocates, and individuals with disabilities from across the state.
The WIN empowers West Virginians living with disabilities through advocacy, skills training, information & referral, transition services, and peer support. The WIN centers provide resources that allow disabled West Virginians to make choices for their lives and advocate for their needs.
The event will begin at 9:00am and will include exhibits, a rally, floor sessions, and visits with your legislator.
