SILC Youth Committee
The SILC Youth Committee was established to help increase and maintain youth representation and involvement on the SILC board.
Duties
- Reach out to entities that work with youth with disabilities for assistance in recruiting youth with disabilities to serve on the Council.
- Develop ideas to recruit youth with disabilities and post on social media.
- Develop recruiting information to share with Cl Ls, schools, and home schoolers.
- Conduct outreach activities and events to educate and recruit youth with disabilities to serve on the SILC.
- Submit, and encourage youth to submit, articles for the SI LC newsletter.
The Fair Shake Initiative
The Fair Shake Network is now The Fair Shake Initiative, a program of the WV Statewide Independent Living Council. The Fair Shake Initiative was formed to carry on the work of the Fair Shake Network.
